Mechanical Assembly Technician (Production Worker) Location:
Menlo Park, CA
Job Description:
Responsible for performing mechanical assembly tasks related to the fabrication or repair of rotodome antennas, rotary couplers and/or related subassemblies.
Identification of various subassemblies and final assembly products.
Perform the daily maintenance of the clean line tanks, pressure testing of parts, also dining of various parts after cleaning.
Operating of ovens to harden the material.
Performs mechanical assembly work utilizing blueprints, and operation sheets.
Use of standard hand tools, callipers, and work with various epoxies to perform operations.
May perform duties relating to remote testing, including preparing and transporting products and assisting test site personnel at our far-field range.
May work at heights of 10' or higher.
Works on the computer using basic Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
Performs pressure testing to locate leaks in subassemblies.
Will require working indoors and outdoors in all-weather loading and unloading Transport Trailers.
Performs limited, intermittent physical exertion.
Works under acceptable conditions with some distraction due to occasional exposure to noise, dust, heat, odours, or chemicals, and inks.
Be able to work for an extended time on their knees, climbing or crawling.
Have the ability to lift /carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Perform work around cranes, hoists, forklifts, and man lifts.
Perform work with and around large ovens.
Education/Experience/Training:
Normally requires a minimum of 4 years of related mechanical assembly experience, and the ability to read operation sheets and blueprints.
The ability to use measuring instruments such as caliper and scale, and basic math formulas and charts.
Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion.
May be required to push, and reach for extended periods of time.
Must have good repetitive manual dexterity with both hands.
Must have sufficient vision to see the relative positions of small parts and be able to discern symmetry and proper alignment.
May be exposed to some or all of the following:
fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels.
Must wear appropriate protective gear and clothing as necessary.
Shall be flexible to work in various departments based on demand needs.
Have a basic knowledge of emails and other basic computer functions.
