Product Design Engineer
At Meta, Design Engineers solve complex Product Design problems with Engineering skills.
This is a unique, specialized role with a mandate to support efforts around quality and craft, improve design systems and tools, and help launch 0-1 product concepts and ideas that are reviewed by leadership and used to conduct user research around the world.
Product Design Engineer ResponsibilitiesWork with Product Design, Engineering, and Product Management XFN partners to devise and help implement technical solutions for design problemsProactively identify opportunities for improving Meta's processes and productsOwn and drive projects, including alignment with peers, product teams and executive leadership/stakeholders on strategyIncrease the efficiency of our design system to enhance our design capabilities at Facebook and across MetaImprove tools and drive quality and craft initiatives in an effort to up-level products at Facebook and across MetaMinimum Qualifications2
years of experience shipping software products with technologies like PHP, Javascript/React, Python, Swift, Java, or other similar frameworksExperience in full lifecycle of design and development -- including ideation, prototyping, development, backwards compatibility, failovers, validation, and user researchUnderstanding of design principles and the knowledge to build experiences that span mobile and desktop browsers and native platformsExperience with programming concepts and prototyping tools, including Origami Studio and FigmaA portfolio that shows a range of technical skills and a creative use of code and prototyping toolsStart preparingLearn about how to prepare for your interview with our interview guide, tips, and interactive experiences.
