Security Software Engineer, Privacy (Senior)
About the roleWe are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead our Privacy Engineering efforts at Character.
As one of the founding members of our security team, you'll partner closely with cross-functional partners to implement privacy controls for Character's growing platform and build the technology that powers them.
This is an exciting opportunity to jump into the cutting-edge field of AI privacy and help shape the next generation of security architecture.
Among the critical tasks you'll take on:
Build user-friendly products to maximize user control over dataDevelop technical systems to operationalize privacy controlsWork cross-functionally with teams across Character to establish a framework and build tools for anonymizing both third-party and user dataWork with the Legal team to define data minimization, retention, and deletion protocols and build the technology to implement themPartner with the Data team to implement data governance solutionsPartner with the Security team on data protection issuesRequirements:

years of industry experience doing end to end product development Front-end experience with React, Reactive Native, and NextJS using TypeScriptExtensive experience writing highly performant services and strong knowledge of Python and/or GolangExperience working with relational and non-relational datastoresFamiliarity with major cloud service providers such as GCP, AWS, and/or AzureStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying and addressing bottlenecks, ensuring that backend systems perform optimally under varying loadsProven ability to work collaboratively with product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to conceive, design, and implement new features that enhance user experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholdersB.
