Senor Patent Analyst (Computer Systems)

Develop technical computer systems analysis in areas of enterprise software systems, client-server architectures, distributed systems, cloud computing, virtualization, enterprise database systems and storage. Analyze patented innovations in technical fields related to computer systems including innovations in web gateways, next generation firewalls, web-application firewalls, anti-virus and anti-malware software and mobile applications. Assess the merits, similarities and differences of various technologies and patented innovations. Conduct extensive research and analysis of computer-based patent portfolios, create and maintain Evidence of Use (EoU) and claim charts. Review specifications and file histories of computer systems and software-based patents in order to support patent licensing programs. Develop critical licensing collaterals related to patent class code analysis and patent landscape analysis for use in patent licensing negotiations, utilizing the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Innography, Delphion databases. Research features, configurations and deployment scenarios of computer-based products and services to establish infringement. Classify product features into core and peripheral features based on typical usage and identify features and configurations present in typical deployments and product versions. Research and analyze technical documentation, technical knowledge bases, white papers and technical user guides to establish infringement scenarios. Present technical findings and analysis to senior management and in house and outside counsel.
EDUCATION: Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science
Experience: One year experience in job offered or computer system analyst position
SPECIAL SKILLS:
1. Experience on conducting research in support of patent licensing programs including portfolio analysis, drafting Evidence of Use (EoUs) and preparing claim charts for computer systems and software-based patents;
2. Experience on developing licensing collaterals including patent class code analysis and patent landscape analysis for computer systems;
3. Experience on analyzing software and computer-based products to establish infringement and to build Evidence of Use (EoUs) and claim charts;
4. Experience on classifying product features into core and peripheral features based on typical usage and deployment;
5. Experience utilizing the United State Patent and Trademark Office, Innography and Delphion data bases.
