Elite Technical is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a short-term contract position in the Silicon Valley area of California supporting a leading defense electronics manufacturer.
Major purpose:
Responsible for mechanical analysis, mechanical design studies, engineering documentation, design support and production support.
The mechanical analysis will include structural and thermal analysis using finite element methods.
The mechanical design studies will include tolerance analysis and material evaluations.
The documentation requirements will include engineering reports, test procedures and manufacturing instructions for prototype designs.
Ensure that designs meet specification requirements.
Major functions:
1.
Conduct structural, thermal, and design analysis of components, sub-systems, and systems through classical hand calculations, computer simulation and mathematical calculations.
2.
Write procedures to test components, sub-systems, and systems.
Perform and lead testing.
3.
Write analysis and test reports that substantiate specification requirements.
Required Skills Education/Experience/Licenses, etc.
:
Requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of related experience or a master's degree and a minimum of three years of related experience.
Requires structural and/or thermal analysis experience and familiarity with military specifications.
BSME or MSMEFinite element analysis (FEMAP/NASTRAN) experience preferred.
Solid modeling capability using Pro/E is a plus.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
