Mechanical Engineer
Responsible for designing, documenting, testing, and analyzing mechanical components, sub-systems, and systems. Ensures designs meet required specifications and schedules. Provides project engineering leadership on larger and more critical projects.
Major
Responsibilities:
Designs and develops mechanical devices to fulfill design objectives and to meet customer requirements and schedules.
Writes procedures to test devices, performs tests, and writes reports on test results.
Conducts thermal, structural, and design analysis of components, sub-systems, and systems through computer simulation and mathematical calculations.
Writes procedures and processes that control critical fabrication requirements.
Performs drafting and related design documentation.
Provides technical support to sustain production.
Committed to quality, timeliness and continuous improvement.
Requires a bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of eight to ten years of related experience or a master's and/or a minimum of five to seven years of related experience. Requires mechanical design and thermal/structural analysis experience and familiarity with military specifications. BSME or MSME and computer analysis experience preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion.
Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
Ability to type for extended periods of time.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Based upon your job duties, and need to visit different areas within Randtron, you may be exposed to; fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals (well below OSHA and ACGIH exposure guidelines), outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and/or be part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels around certain equipment.
May be required to move items 25 pounds for distances of up to 25 feet.
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
