Printing Services Specialist

Major duties and responsibilities include:
Works with and mentors the personnel assigned to the Distribution Center. Meets, discusses, coordinates and fill requests for internal customers; and external customers of corporate Silicon and Central Valleys, and local medical institutes. Receives, reviews and prioritizes all incoming printing and/or device duplication requisitions for completeness, accuracy, conformance to requirements, and proper format. Analyzes electronic files and/or hard copies for proper conformity and operates digital duplicating and press equipment for mass reproduction purposes. Assists editors/writers of programs, books, trifolds, forms, booklets, certificates, brochures, invitations, menus, pamphlets, flyers, cards, signage, labels, etc. Formulates basic layout design concept and conducts research to select and secure suitable graphic material. Develops drawings and diagrams for use in publications, exhibits, consultations, research or teaching activities. Prepares graphics as computer designs. Captures photos utilizing high definition cameras Develops videos with high definition motion cameras and conducts non-linear video editing Diagnoses equipment malfunctions, operating problems, and performs corrective adjustments as necessary to equipment and/or peripherals. You must possess 1 year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower level in the Federal service, that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to this Printing Specialist position to be filled. Specialized experience for the position includes:
Determining specifications for the printing of manuscript, i.e., selection of typography, layout, composition, format, paper stock, and other printer's instructions; Negotiating or administering contracts for procurement of manuscript and illustrations, printing, binding and allied services, or printing stocks (paper, inks, etc.); Managing a printing plant that produces printing either for the government or private industry customers; Performing production control work in a large printing plant; Serving as a sales representative for a wide variety of printing equipment; Analyzing the price and cost of preparation and production of printing; Planning, estimating, and scheduling printing on a full-time basis for a variety of publications; Performing substantive administrative support or policy functions directly related to publishing and printing program management or operations. In addition to the experience above:
Experience using high definition still and motion cameras, lighting and news gathering best practices for success story telling; Experience using computers. OR You must have successfully completed a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or completed an L.L.B or J.D. with major study in journalism, business administration, English composition, commerce, accounting, printing or printing engineering, graphic or commercial art, industrial engineering, or economics. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) OR You must possess equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience to meet total qualification requirements at the GS-9 level. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
