The Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) for Mental Health is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Outpatient, Inpatient, and Residential Treatment services. Psychiatry Service is comprised of the following sections:
Consultation and Assessment, Outpatient Mental Health, Geriatrics, Acute Inpatient Psychiatry, Specialized Mental Health Services (Addiction Treatment Services and the Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs (MHRRTPs), and Psychiatry Research programs, including the Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC) and the War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRllSC). This is a Stanford affiliated service with employees and programs at ten sites in the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. The complexity and multidimensional aspects of the enterprise require the incumbent to have an overall knowledge of the organization , its mission, goals, and impact on patients, personnel, community, and the nation. Serves as a primary contact for informational needs and services to a broad range of customers , including service chiefs, program directors, and other program supervisors in terms of analyzing, planning, developing informational needs through programming, data mining, and data warehouses. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Performing a variety of duties in support of data entry, collection, analysis, and preparation of reports for Mental Health programs. Maintaining databases and related files for Mental Health programs. Conducting administrative matters independently, prioritizing the work to assure that deadlines are met. Responsible for coordinating building maintenance and other required service, Maintaining oversight and processing of incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memorandum and requests for computer access. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Physical Requirements:
There are no unique physical demands required other than the ability to work under frequent telephone and/or personal contact interruptions by staff, Veterans, families, and visitors. Most of the work is sedentary, but some mobility is required such as walking, standing, bending, lifting, and carrying light items such as books, papers, and files. Occasionally, some mobility via either shuttle bus or government car may be required between divisions. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
